Youth Haven Bible Camp has grown from two acres and a few buildings in 1948 to 66 acres, 11 camper cabins, plus guest accommodations for volunteer workers. A gymnasium and swimming pool are used for summer camps, spring and fall retreats, and community outreach.

Lee County Recreational Center is a recently leased 16,275 square foot building to Kentucky Mountain Mission.  The goal is to develop a ministry for children, teens and adults — adapting the building for bowling, fitness equipment and other recreational activities.  Pledges of bowling equipment and volunteer service for installation have been made and renovation work begun. 

The Cooperative Extension Service 4-H/Youth Development Program

Creates opportunities and supportive environments for youth and adults to become capable, competent and caring citizens. The emphasis is on "hands-on" learning that focuses on the areas of interest to youth.  Programs are conducted with the help of parents, adult volunteer leaders and professional staff who organize educational experiences.  Youth participate in organized 4-H clubs, special interest and project groups, 4-H school enrichment programs, 4-H camp and other special activities.

The goal of the Family & Consumer Sciences Program is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families.  They address the challenges of critical issues affecting people's daily lives in a changing environment.  Programs focus on economic, social and physical well-being of their clients.  They strengthen personal and family relationships, encourage healthful choices and identify resources to extend income.

Family Resource Center

Located at Beattyville Elementary and Southside Elementary.  The FRC provides a variety of family-based services including referrals to other agencies and direct services when needed.  They focus on areas such as child care, health care, child development, school attendance and basic needs for the family.

Cumberland Mountain Outreach Ministries Incorporated (CMO)

A faith based non-profit, organization (mission) for children at risk in impoverished counties in the Appalachian Region. CMO was founded by Bruce and Cindy Fellers in 2000 as a Kid’s Day Camp and a work camp to help low-income families meet basic home repair needs. In 2002 CMO became a recognized year-round mission station that provides support for low-income families in the form of food, clothing, household items, home repairs, Kid’s Day Camp and holiday gifts.  CMO has a multi-faceted mission to share the love and teaching of Jesus Christ including: feeding the hungry; clothing the less fortunate; providing volunteer opportunities to help those in poverty; and organizing home repair for families who need improved shelter.

All of this is done to provide a safe, warm place for a child to call home. They believe that many will come to know God in a greater way because of the unconditional love that is demonstrated.  All programs are operated to assist families and individuals with the goal of providing them with the skills to function independently and without having to rely upon others to make their way in the world.

Beattyville Kiwanis Club

The Kiwanis club of Beattyville, KY was chartered on February 15, 1923 with 50 members. 

The Kiwanis club consists of volunteers dedicated to changing the world through service to children and communities.  They develop youth as leaders, provide projects that benefit children, conduct fundraisers, and much more.  Kiwanis is based upon the idea that working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.  When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream, and succeed, great things happen!  Kiwanis strives to be the premier provider of programs that develop competent, knowledgeable, ethical youth and adult leaders.
